Cheng Shuiquan Leads Changsha AI and Robotics Industrial Chain Delegation to Siemens in Shanghai to Accelerate the Industry 4.0 (Zhongnan Intelligent) Innovation Center

On April 17, to accelerate the development of Changsha’s artificial intelligence and robotics industries and help Zhongnan Intelligent — the province’s leading robotics enterprise — grow stronger and larger, Cheng Shuiquan, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Changsha Municipal People’s Congress and “chain leader” for the city’s artificial intelligence and robotics industrial chain, led a delegation to Shanghai for a visit and dedicated matchmaking session with Siemens Industry Software (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and other companies. The delegation included Qiu Jixing, Deputy Mayor of Changsha; Guo Sijun, Standing Committee Member of the Yuhua District Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Yuhua Economic Development Zone; and Yang Yang, General Manager of Hunan Zhongnan Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.

In March, the Changsha Municipal People’s Government, Zhongnan Intelligent, and Siemens Industry Software (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to jointly establish China’s first Industry 4.0 (Zhongnan Intelligent) Innovation Center. Guided by the principles of a high starting point and high positioning, the Center will draw on the strengths of all three parties to build a cooperation platform connected to the international frontier of manufacturing, making core intelligent manufacturing technology a calling card that leads Hunan and carries influence nationwide, and supporting Changsha’s development as a national intelligent manufacturing center.

Chairman Cheng Shuiquan and Deputy Mayor Qiu Jixing each presented the industrial policies, market demand, and state of intelligent manufacturing development in Hunan Province and Changsha. They expressed hope that Siemens would increase its investment in Changsha; that, building on Zhongnan Intelligent, the Industry 4.0 (Zhongnan Intelligent) Innovation Center would soon become a model innovation platform for intelligent manufacturing; and that the Center would serve as an entry point for wider cooperation between Changsha and Siemens and other German companies.

Liang Naiming, Global Senior Vice President of Siemens PLM Software and Managing Director for Greater China, and Wang Weiguo, Vice President of Siemens (China) Co., Ltd., warmly received the delegation. They pledged full support for the construction and development of the Industry 4.0 (Zhongnan Intelligent) Innovation Center, with the aim of making it a model project for the industry and a bridge for German companies entering Changsha, and indicated that once the Center is completed and operating, they would invest in production facilities in the city to expand cooperation further. The delegation then visited KUKA Robotics Shanghai.
