Gao Xingfu, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Visits the Changtai Robot Stand

The launch ceremony marking the permanent establishment of exhibitor companies at the Yangtze River Delta Robot Expo City, held together with the opening of the 2018 Yangtze River Delta Robot Expo City Intelligent Equipment Exhibition, recently took place. Changtai Robot attended by invitation as a leading Chinese robotics and intelligent equipment enterprise.

On the morning of May 10, Gao Xingfu, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, together with other provincial and municipal officials, visited the Changtai Robot stand. Gao Di, Deputy General Manager of Changtai Robot, received the delegation and guided the tour, giving an account of the development of both Zhongnan Intelligent and Changtai Robot.

The clear, resonant sound of bianzhong chime bells drew visitors to a halt in front of the Changtai Robot exhibit. When the piece finished, Vice Governor Gao and his party praised the robot’s rendition of the folk melody “Jasmine Flower,” remarking that having a robot play an ancient percussion instrument made for a light, inventive, and distinctive performance. Gao Di explained that the bianzhong is an ancient traditional Chinese instrument while the robot is a product of the high-technology age, and that bringing the two together is a fitting union of innovation and tradition. He then gave a detailed account of the features, performance, and application fields of the “Changsha No. 1” robot on display.

As Hunan’s first independently developed multifunctional robot, “Changsha No. 1” achieved the hardware realization of a domestically developed robot control system. Future versions will develop further toward general-purpose use and human–machine connectivity, moving into their own 4.0 era.

Vice Governor Gao noted that the economies of Zhejiang and Hunan are highly complementary and that the two provinces have long maintained frequent exchange in science and technology, trade, and culture. In this fortieth anniversary year of China’s reform and opening up, he expressed hope that Changtai Robot, as a designated intelligent manufacturing demonstration enterprise in Hunan, would use the Expo City’s intelligent equipment exhibition and matchmaking platform to bring fresh innovation to Zhejiang’s Made in China 2025 action plan, advancing technical and talent cooperation between the two provinces in intelligent manufacturing for mutual benefit.
