Chen Xiaohong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Leads Study Visit to Zhongnan Intelligent

On March 28, Chen Xiaohong — Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of the Hunan Association of Artificial Intelligence, and President of Hunan University of Commerce — led a delegation on a study visit to Zhongnan Intelligent. Liu Zheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Huasheng Group, Dr. Yang Yang, General Manager of Zhongnan Intelligent, and members of the company’s research team took part in the discussion.

The delegation toured the company’s technology showroom, viewed its promotional film and product introduction videos, and visited the test workshop, learning in detail about Zhongnan Intelligent’s major progress and notable achievements in industry, research, and capital markets, and hearing about leading-edge developments in robotics, the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, and the industrial internet.

At the discussion that followed, Dr. Yang Yang presented the company’s intelligent software and hardware products, its research and development work, its application scenarios, and its “Intelligent+” industry planning.

Chairman Liu Zheng noted that as Hunan’s only provincial-level state-owned intelligent manufacturing platform, the newly restructured Zhongnan Intelligent has a greater capacity to attract talent and a broader platform for growth. He said the company will build on firm foundations and rely on core technology to support its development, and expressed hope for a high-quality university–enterprise cooperation platform with Academician Chen and Hunan University of Commerce to jointly explore wider applications of artificial intelligence in industrial and everyday settings.

Academician Chen gave a strong endorsement of the Zhongnan Intelligent team and its achievements. She noted that with the arrival of the 5G era, the development of “Intelligent+” application scenarios has risen to the national agenda, and that artificial intelligence and robotics represent a blue ocean strongly supported by national strategy and urgently needed by society. Standing at the commanding heights of both industry and technology, she said, Zhongnan Intelligent has entered the most favorable period for its development. Cooperation between Hunan University of Commerce, the Hunan Association of Artificial Intelligence, and Zhongnan Intelligent will help Hunan build a new hundred-billion-yuan industrial cluster in intelligent manufacturing. Academician Chen also offered constructive suggestions on the company’s future direction, and the parties will go on to pursue strategic cooperation in areas including strategic research and industry–academia–research and university–enterprise collaboration.
