Focusing on the Core‑Making Department of Workshop No. 4 at the Materials Forming Center, an intelligent multi‑level storage system featuring four‑way shuttles has been implemented to address the needs for hot‑core and sand‑core material storage and production flow. The project integrates a high‑density automated vertical warehouse with four‑way shuttle carts, automated conveyor lines, an AGV‑based smart delivery system, and robotic workstations, seamlessly connecting the entire process—from sand‑core and hot‑core automatic core repair and coating to transfer, multi‑level warehousing, and intelligent core assembly. Supported by an advanced intelligent system, the solution achieves fully automated, closed‑loop operations across material handling, inter‑process transport, and workstation delivery.

 

Application Results

The project employs a four-way shuttle‑car dense‑storage system, integrated with a full‑line automated equipment cluster, to achieve seamless coordination between material storage and production flow in the core‑manufacturing process. This thoroughly addresses the longstanding challenges of disorganized material stacking, inefficient use of warehouse space, and reliance on manual handling for inter‑process transfers, fully replacing manual operations such as material handling, storage, and core‑assembly support. Following implementation, Warehouse space utilization increased by 200% Overall production efficiency has increased by 100%. , effectively reducing on-site labor input and the rate of operational errors, while achieving a standardized, intelligent, and integrated upgrade in the management and control of warehousing, logistics, and production processes within the core‑making section.
