Zhongnan Intelligent’s Presentation Draws Praise at Major Automotive Castings Conference

From September 4 to 7, 2018, the China (International) Conference on Lightweight Automotive Casting Technology and the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Automotive Castings Branch of the China Foundry Association were successfully held in Linzhou. The event was hosted by the China Foundry Association and organized by its Automotive Castings Branch together with the Linzhou Municipal Government. Zhongnan Intelligent attended by invitation as a board member unit of the Automotive Castings Branch.

The conference was held under the theme of lightweight casting technology driving the development of the automotive foundry industry in an era of new technologies, new development, and new models. It aimed to showcase leading thinking and the latest research findings in automotive casting and to examine the current state and future development of the sector in China and internationally.

Gao Jinrui, Executive Deputy General Manager of Zhongnan Intelligent, gave a presentation titled “Intelligent Manufacturing Leads a New Transformation in the Foundry Industry,” sharing perspectives and leading-edge technologies on topics of current industry interest such as intelligent casting and green casting. He focused on the company’s intelligent manufacturing solutions built on intelligent robots and grinding machine tools for casting applications in rail, aerospace, and automotive, and gave a comprehensive analysis of the direction and means of change in foundry production under Industry 4.0. The presentation drew an enthusiastic response. Gao Jinrui observed that robots and machine tools will become the intelligent manufacturing terminals of the industrial internet era.

The conference coincided with the leadership transition of the Automotive Castings Branch. At the Fourth Members’ Congress and the first meeting of the Fourth Council of the Branch, Zhongnan Intelligent was elected a board member unit of the Fourth Council, with Gao Di, Deputy General Manager of Changtai Robot, elected as its board representative. At the first plenary meeting of the Tenth Editorial Board of the journal Modern Cast Iron, held at the same time, Gao Di was appointed a member of the Tenth Editorial Board.

Zhongnan Intelligent brings extensive industry experience in intelligent casting. It has established cooperation with OEMs including FAW, Dongfeng, Weichai, Yuchai, Heli, and Yunnei Power, and holds more than 70 patents covering core technologies in the field. Using the Automotive Castings Branch as a connecting platform and drawing on its strengths in technology R&D, the company will help automotive casting manufacturers resolve key challenges in intelligentization and provide a model for the sector’s intelligent transformation — raising production efficiency and product quality through technology and innovation, and supporting China’s transition from a major casting country to a major intelligent manufacturing country.
